Transformation cycles
of the Universe

The universe's path of
development (TAO) is a 'norm' in life. Certain steps, patterns and
structures guide all becoming. But these cycles of transformation also
require a specific system of rules, an 'approach' to creation. This
fundamental rule system is called Virtue.
The Virtue
(TE) - Harmonious way of the Universe
Built into the fabric of the Universe itself is (I argue), a moral/ethical
lifestyle that strives towards harmony and peace. The presence of this
'Virtue', prevents growing chaos, increasing tension and breakdown of
existing structures. Over time, the Universe can thus maintain balance and
harmony. In other words, there is a reward system built into the cosmos that
promotes stability.
The universe has an eternal plan of development (TAO) for all its beings.
This system describes each entity's relative size, location, structure,
entity category, consciousness, dimension, and so on, in great detail. The
development goes from the small to the big, from the unconscious to the
conscious, from simplicity and on to ever greater complexity.
But existence alone cannot sustain and preserve organic structures. It also
requires an approach to creation. The Chinese tradition calls the universal
creation TAO. The approach, the method of taking the right position in life,
they call TE. If you summarize TE, it can, broadly speaking, be expressed
according to these basic rules:
-
Courage and
faithfulness (upholding established rules)
-
Humble
lifestyle (respect, wisdom)
-
Peace in body
and mind (reverence for outer and inner worlds)
-
Moderate
living (avoid extremes)
-
Restrained
Speech (and Deeds)
-
Acceptance of
the Path of Life (TAO, The Fate)
A karma promoting life
Virtue is closely related to the law of karma. It goes well and
friction-free for those who live in accordance with Virtue. It goes less
well for the one who fights against the laws of life and lacks in humility
and righteousness. But the will is free and each individual soul has the
right to carve out its own path, for better or for worse. A wicked life
automatically reflects back on the perpetrator.
Note that the virtue is active both for the constructive and the destructive
energy. The universe has two fundamental forces that, at least for what is
seems, are at open war with each other. Even destructive elements
(perpetrators of violence) are thus encouraged to follow the path of virtue.
Virtue does not favor the so-called 'good' forces, but more precisely
"truth, trustwortiness and authenticity".
